1. Raise Awareness to the needs of orphans

2. Encourage and Support those who feel led to adopt or go on a mission trip to the orphanages

3. Doing-Adoptions, Giving and Going

WHO WE ARE

The FBC Orphan Ministry Team began after God opened their eyes to the needs of the orphans around the
world. The founding couples began their quest to adopt but felt called to do more. The ministry was started in
2010, but came to fruition in March of 2011 when the team and FBC hosted Orphan Sunday. The people of
FBC gave over $6,000.00 in one Sunday to save Constance, a Russian orphan with Down Syndrome (pictured
above right.) Constance had been waiting for over 4 years for a family and she was running out of time. She
had two weeks for a family to step up and commit to adopting her or she was going to be transferred to a
mental institution in Russia. Approximately 90% of children die within the first year of being transferred. We
saw the need and thankfully many gave! Within two weeks of the donation into Constance’s adoption fund
she was ADOPTED by a couple living in Oklahoma. The family plans to visit our church after Constance
arrives home.
Our vision of one less (one less orphan) continues with the One Less 5K. We are raising money in support of
Alice, a Russian orphan with Down Syndrome Alice is nearing institutionalization and is
running out of hope. We are thankful for our sponsers who have helped pay for the race supplies and shirts so
that all entry fees and donations go straight to Alice. You can find out about how much money was raised and
be kept up to date by emailing Christin Lites at aclites06@windstream.net. We will add you to our list and
update you on the race results and Alice.
The Orphan Ministry Team has just begun and they are looking for more opportunities to help
both domestic and international orphans. If you have any information on orphans
needing our assistance please contact Christin Lites or FBC.
